Seattle Festival Orchestra: Sabre Dance

Saturday, Nov. 7 @ 2 p.m.–3 p.m.

Seattle Festival Orchestra offers FREE kid-friendly orchestra concerts, three times a year! These concerts are abridged versions of our full concerts, and are a great way to introduce your children to live classical music. There are always kid-friendly activities, plus a chance to meet musicians and see instruments up close. Our November concert will feature an instrument “petting zoo” hosted by Ted Brown Music, where kids can actually try out various wind and string instruments.

Our November concert will include music by Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian, including selections from his dramatic Spartacus Suite No. 2, and the iconic, energetic Sabre Dance. Contemporary composer Eldar Hudiyev’s “Circus” features Seattle Symphony clarinetist Benjamin Lulich as soloist, and brings a playful and dazzling contrast to the program.
