The Summer Storytime series brings local picture book authors to Old Town Park for a read-aloud and children’s activity. These free community events are held on Thursdays at 10am. Books will be available for purchase from the author.

On 6/25, we kick off our Summer Storytime series with author Tanishia Bennett, plus a special art activity with our friends from Tacoma Art Museum!

On 7/9, Tacoma native Bonita Lee shares her picture book Go On Lil’ Sista Go On. This event includes a craft activity!

On 7/23, Tacoma author Mary Boone shares her newest picture book The Flying Feminist. This event includes a craft activity!

On 8/6, local author and illustrator Wendy Wahman shares her dog-themed books, Don’t Lick the Dog and Nanny Paws. This event includes a special art activity!

On 8/20, local author Brandi Harrington shares her latest book Trouble With Buttons. This event includes a craft activity!
