‘Then and Now: The American History Trail, 1776 to 2026’

Thursday, Feb. 19 @ 5 p.m.–7 p.m.

Join the Buffalo Soldiers Museum as we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a special public program. This event will highlight the lasting impact and historical importance of this foundational American document. We invite the community and to honor our nation’s ongoing journey toward freedom and unity. Experience an engaging program that fosters civic pride, historical reflection, and a deeper understanding of our shared national identity, recognizing both the achievements and the ongoing efforts that shape our country.

A special tribute will honor Crispus Attucks, the American whaler, sailor, and stevedore of African and Native American descent, recognized as the first casualty of the American Revolution. His story highlights the diverse roots of American patriotism and the sacrifices made throughout our history. True to our military history tradition, we will also celebrate 250 years of service by the nation’s armed forces, from the Revolution to the present day. Enjoy live music, complimentary food and beverages, and plenty of time to connect with your community in a welcoming atmosphere.

This program is hosted by the Buffalo Soldiers Museum and Luther Adams – Free Man of Color, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Ethnic, Gender, and Labor Studies at the University of Washington Tacoma.
