Town & Country Markets Ballard 40th Anniversary Celebration

Saturday, Sept. 19 @ 12 p.m.–4 p.m.

Local grocery favorite, Town & Country Markets Ballard is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Saturday, September 19, from 12–4 p.m., with free birthday cake and coffee, and tasty samples all afternoon. Party goers will also enjoy:

A DJ spinning 80s music

A pickled herring eating contest (a nod to Ballard’s Scandinavian roots)

A Jimothy scavenger hunt through the market with a prize wheel for kids and adults

A “sharing memories” wall with historic photos of the market, plus a live poet who’ll write spontaneous poems from guests’ memories

A fundraiser lunch — serving an old Ballard Market favorite – hot prime rib sandwich — with all proceeds benefiting the Ballard Senior Center

Temporary tattoos, cornhole, and more

And, last chance to get one of the previously sold-out Ballard Market artist totes, restocked by popular demand after the original quickly became a shopper favorite. Artist Jen Vickers, who’s known for her whimsical, colorful pop designs, drew inspiration for the Ballard tote from the iconic Ballard Market sign, which once welcomed visitors to the bustling industrial neighborhood.
