Don’t miss this rare opportunity! For one day only, join us at the Washington State History Museum on September 17, 2026, to view the original 1889 Constitution of the State of Washington. Presented by the Office of the Secretary of State and the Washington State Archives, this special event is part of Washington’s America250 celebrations and honors the Day of Civic Engagement.
The Constitution will be on display from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. Following brief remarks by Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck, visitors will have a chance to ask archives staff questions about the document, explore the exhibit An American Experiment (*Washington’s Version), and view additional artifacts related to statehood from the Washington State Historical Society’s collection.
