Winter Wonderland at the Children’s Museum of Skagit County

Calendar/Event Details

The Children’s Museum of Skagit County creates a winter wonderland every year at Burlington Plaza (formerly The Shops at Burlington) on the first full weekend in December! There are activities for children, families, teens and adults — indoor and outdoor fun for everyone! Winter Wonderland activities are free and we are encouraging local families as well as those from all over the Pacific Northwest to come and enjoy the fun!

There’s something for everyone, every day! Indoor and outdoor activities, special guests, lots to see and do. It’s December in the Northwest, so layer up, put your wellies on, bring some dry socks and get ready to have some fun outdoors … and indoors!

Get your free wristband before you start each day of play — a new wristband is required each day. The event activities are free, but the wristband helps us to keep track of how many people are coming each day, which helps us with organizing and funding the next year’s event!

*Please note that admission to the Children’s Museum of Skagit County is not included with the free wristband. Regular admission rates apply.*

2024 Winter Wonderland is Dec. 6–8!

Every day will include:

  • Outdoor fun: Every day there will be a snow area for kids to play in. You can learn about snowshoeing, do some sledding & more! We will also have a toddler snow area. Snowmobiles from Northwest Glacier Cruisers, and Tinkerbelle the Pony will be on site for snuggles and adorable photo ops.
  • Indoor fun: Inside in the retail spaces adjacent to the Museum there will be loads of crafts, face-painting, simulated skiing & snowboarding, a toddler area and “snow science” with the NW Avalanche Center.
  • Vendor fair and performances: Returning this year, presented by D Bennett Construction! Enjoy the opportunity to shop from amazing, unique local vendors and to experience live music and dance performances at Burlington Plaza during Winter Wonderland. Located in the old Coleman’s storefront (316 Fashion Way) – the space will be divided into a performance space and a vendor fair!
