Fabulous Family Camp or Class

Winner: YMCA Camp Orkila

Parents are clamoring to have the same stellar experiences as their kids by signing up for the YMCA’s Camp Orkila family weekends. Together, families partake in Orkila’s arts and crafts, boating activities, zip-line fun, giant swing rides and more. Sunset campfires are sure to be a memory your family talks about forever.

Finalists

Camp Gallagher, a favorite among teens, continues to garner votes for its awesome family camp weekend. The South Sound gem offers sunny, sandy adventures plus swimming, crafts, campfires and all the best summer camp fare — for the whole family.

At Cazadero Performing Arts Family Camp Northwest, adults rekindle their enthusiasm for music or theater while children explore their new interest in the arts. For more than 30 years, families have been making memories at “Caz Northwest,” located on Puget Sound’s beautiful Key Peninsula between Olympia and Gig Harbor. “An amazing way to connect as a family — something for everyone!” writes one happy camper.

Family getaways at the North Cascades Institute Environmental Learning Center offer a premium “camping” experience, no tents necessary. Participants sleep in comfy rooms, eat healthy, family-style meals in the dining hall and soak up the stunning North Cascades scenery all day long.

Families take a leap with group courses offered at SANCA — School of Acrobatics & New Circus Arts, including ones focused on the flying trapeze, youth trampoline, Baby & Me and the unicycle. “My niece absolutely loves the place and can’t wait to spend another summer there,” writes one Golden Teddy voter.
