Recall alert: Old Graco strollers

Published on: December 30, 2013

graco_stroller_recall_10-20-20101Graco is recalling 2 million Quattro and MetroLite brand strollers after four babies strangled in the strollers and died. The deaths occurred between 2003 and 2005. The strollers in question were sold between November 2000 and December 2007.

The recalled strollers have a gap between the stroller tray and the seat bottom that is big enough for a baby's torso to slip through, but not the baby's head. Babies who are not properly fastened into the seat can slip down and be caught by the neck.  If you have one of these strollers, you should stop using it immediately and contact Graco at 877-838-4046 for a free repair kit.

The list of strollers included in the current recall is available here, on the Consumer Products Safety Commission's website (cpsc.gov). The model numbers are printed on a sticker, either above the rear wheels or underneath the stroller.
