The idea for The Storybook Ballet Theatre was born from the wild popularity of Tacoma City Ballet’s Halloween performance, The Haunted Theatre: Backstage Tour and Eerie Dances. In response to overwhelming demand for more family-friendly, budget-conscious performances, Tacoma City Ballet created Storybook Ballet Theatre. The production delights audiences with short ballets based on classic children’s fairy tales, nursery rhymes, proverbs, and fables. Storybook Ballet Theatre is designed to keep both young and old enthralled throughout each one-hour performance! Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite storybook characters to join in the fun!
