Complex Exchange pairs Seattle community members from a variety of disciplines in a series of conversations to tackle themes inspired by the exhibitions, Figuring History: Robert Colescott, Kerry James Marshall, Mickalene Thomas on view at the Seattle Art Museum and Everyday Black at the Northwest African American Museum (NAAM).
This first event takes place at NAAM and centers Everyday Black, a collection of portraits from contemporary photographers Zorn B. Taylor and Jessica Rycheal that beautifully bear witness to the everyday lives of black commuity members in Seattle and beyond. This year’s series includes two free programs, one hosted at each institution.
