In partnership with Youth in Focus, the Seattle Japanese Garden is pleased to host our third youth photography workshops in the garden. Young photographers (from grades 8 through 12), come and learn about the Japanese stroll garden, tea ceremony, and create inspiring images for our community.
With the instructor from Youth in Focus, you will expand your knowledge of DSLR cameras, composition, and storytelling through taking photographs in the garden.
At the end of the workshop, you will submit one picture to be printed and framed. Your framed print will be showcased at our community room at the Seattle Japanese Garden.
Qualification to attend:
- You are a student from grade 8 through Grade 12
- You have a love of and are interested in photography
- You want to learn about Japanese gardens and culture
The workshop includes:
- Admission to the Seattle Japanese Garden
- Tea ceremony demonstration by a Seattle based tea practitioner
- Guided tour by our volunteer guide
- A camera will be provided for use by Youth in Focus
- The link to download your digital images
- One framed print will be created after the workshop for a summer exhibition at our community room in the garden
Tuition:
The tuition is a donation-based. We appreciate you paying what you can.
