Families are cordially invited to Sponge’s 15th Birthday Open House on Saturday, Feb. 1st from 9am to 12:30pm at our Mt. Baker Center. This free event will take families all over the globe with international snacks, fun-filled Spanish, Mandarin, French, Japanese and German classes taught by native-speaking teachers; crafts from around the world; and paper cutting and dance performances.
Chinese paper-cutting art will be performed by Ming Liang, a paper cutting artist for more than twenty years, and also the author of the book “Principles of Paper Cutting”.
There will also be an interactive dance performance that will feature the Chinese long-sleeve dance “Step into Spring”.
Families may enter to win special door prizes, including free storybooks and discounted language classes.This event is geared toward children ages 10 and younger and their families.
