Urban Hikes with Global Family Travels

Calendar/Event Details

Ready to reconnect with downtown, learn something new and get some exercise at the same time? The Downtown Seattle Association is partnering with Global Family Travels to offer guided urban hikes all summer long. These excursions are free and open to the public, but attendance for each is limited and registration is required. Appropriate for children 11 and older.

On Saturday, Sept. 18, 25 and Oct. 2 from 10-11:30 a.m. urban hikers will explore the rapidly changing Seattle Waterfront with “The Waterfront Past and Future: an Evolution of Alaskan Way.” Two hikes are also available on Friday, Sept. 17 and 24 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Register here.

Want to know “Who’s Watching You in Downtown Seattle?” then sign up for this family-friendly urban hike guided by historian and author, David B. Williams. He will lead this 1.5-mile walk through the downtown retail core and around Pike Place Market, where you will learn about the interesting history and architecture by looking at the dozens of carved and molded animals gazing out from Seattle buildings. Tours are on Friday, Sept. 17 and 24 and Oct. 1 from 1:30-3 p.m. Register here.
