Youth Christmas Bird Count

Calendar/Event Details

The Christmas Bird Count is the nation’s longest-running community science birding project. The first Seattle CBC was in 1908! The data collected during the CBC are used by scientists and conservationists to understand and protect birds all over the world.

All youth and their families will be trained on proper data collection techniques and the data collected will be entered into the eBird database.

Bring some snacks, dress in weather-appropriate clothing, and be ready to count! Some snacks and warm beverages will be provided.

The Youth CBC will meet at the back of the Environmental Learning Center in Discovery Park at 10:00am. We'll wrap up by noon.

Please register all attendees - adults & youth - so we can anticipate how large the teams will be.
