Time to book a night out

Spice things up

Although you may swear you have two left feet, trying a dance class at least once in your life is a must. Be it the Tango or the Two-Step, joining a group class keeps things light and social.
Try it: Seattle’s Sueños de Salsa offers private lessons, group classes and workshops. Try a 5-session salsa class and get an intro to salsa, cha cha and bachata. Proof of vaccination required.
Heat things up

Bring out your inner blacksmith and visit SoDo’s Lawless Forge on your next parents’ night out. Work with the pros to turn hot steel into take-home souvenirs, from bottle openers to steel chopsticks to wasabi bowls. Promising to “create wonderful memories and forge stronger bonds,” this outside-of-the-box activity will definitely leave an impression.
Start cooking

Slice, dice, sip and sauté — sans kids — at a local cooking class. Whether sharpening your culinary skills or trying your hand at a new-to-you dish, cooking classes always make for a well-rounded date night or gathering of friends.
Try it: Run by a husband and wife duo, Bellevue’s Whisk feature impressive international classes. Or pop over to Seattle’s Hotel Andra, home of the Hot Stove Society. Operated by Tom Douglas Restaurants, these classes are sure to inspire your inner chef.
Get into glass

It’s been noted that Seattle has more glassblowing studios than any other U.S. city, so it makes sense that you try it at least once. Even if you don’t leave convinced that you’re the next Dale Chihuly, it’s a fun new art form to try.
Try it: Seattle Glassblowing Studio and Gallery in Belltown offers classes that range from quick and easy intros to private lessons to weekend workshops. MoltenWorks glass studio in Woodinville features Sip n’ Fuse classes where you design a piece and then pick it up the following week.
Paint and pinot

Trade in your washable poster board paints for some acrylics and a glass of wine. Instructor-led art classes are a popular choice for couples or group gatherings, as the social, informal atmosphere promises an evening of laughter and creativity.
