I may have just put away my tank tops, but it’s nearly fall, the pumpkins are growing and it’s time to plan my family’s pumpkin patch pilgrimage! Farmers all over the region are carving corn mazes into their fields and prepping their farms for visiting families looking for plenty of harvest fun.
Pumpkin patches around Seattle can vary quite a bit. For kids, much of the fun comes from extras, including kids activities and treats (bring on the apple cider donuts). Be sure to double-check your preferred pumpkin patch’s details before heading out if you’re counting on a certain activity or snack. Facebook pages are a good source of day-by-day information from farms.
This list is big and organized by region. Browse the best Washington state has to offer or find a local spot near you.

A few pumpkin-picking tips:
- Bring hand sanitizer. Many farms have only portable toilets.
- Dress appropriately. Wear your boots for muddy farm trails and dress in layers for typical Seattle drizzles.
- Mud-proof the trunk for muddy pumpkins and boots. Bring spare shoes for the ride home.
- Have cash and a card on hand for activities and food; some farms may take cash only or cards only.
- Leave the stroller behind … and the dog. Typically you’ll have a bumpy landscape to traverse, and most places are not dog-friendly (though a few farms welcome leashed dogs, as noted).
