Eastside pumpkin patches

The Pumpkin Farm and Puzzle Patch, Woodinville

Dates: Open Thursday–Sunday, Sept. 20–Oct. 27. A few weekends offer special events, see the website for details. 

Cost: Tickets cost $15 for ages 13 and older; $7.50 for ages 2–12.

Location: 14063 N.E. 145th St., Woodinville

What is a puzzle patch you ask? Well wear your walking shoes because the puzzle patch includes multiple trails and acres to explore the farm. They offer a 10-acre corn maze, with three different trail systems to explore and miles of trails including the gorgeous 6-acre sunflower field, as well as 10 acres of pumpkin plants to wind your way through. You are gonna hit your step count for the day for sure! 

Just want a pumpkin without all the walking? Head to the pumpkin tent (free) where you can pick up a pumpkin, squash, gourd or some sweet corn

Jubilee Farm, Carnation

Dates: Harvest Festival, Saturdays and Sundays in October; pumpkin patch only, open daily in October. Check for updates on the Facebook page.

Cost: Admission and parking are free. Pumpkins and food for purchase.

Location: 229 W. Snoqualmie River Rd. N.E., Carnation

Hit the Harvest Festival on the weekends where you’ll find hay rides, hot apple cider, farm animals and a barn store with all sorts of goodies for sale. During the week, grab a wheelbarrow and head out into the fields to pick your perfect pumpkin. 

Remlinger Farms, Carnation

Dates: Fall Harvest festival is open weekends, Sept. 28–Oct. 27; the pumpkin patch is open daily

Cost: Free admission to the pumpkin patch; pumpkins for purchase. Fall Harvest Festival park admission is $29.99; tots ages 1 and younger free. Add on a pony ride for $8. Online reservations are required. 

Location: 32610 N.E. 32nd St., Carnation

Remlinger buzzes with activity during its Fall Harvest Festival that takes place weekends, Sept. 28–Oct. 27. Take a wagon ride out to the U-pick pumpkin fields, shop in the farm market and explore the corn maze. Head to the Family Fun Park for entertainment and more than 25 rides from a small (but thrilling) roller coaster, to antique pedal car rides and more. Kids can also climb on tractors and an old school bus, scale a fort and slide down their new giant slide! Plus, festival admission includes a pumpkin of any size to take home (not valid in the pumpkin U-pick field). There are lots of picnic spots at Remlinger, but you’re supposed to buy food on the premises — there is a snack bar and a full restaurant. 

Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center, Carnation

Dates: Oxtober Fall Festival is Oct. 19–20; Check the Facebook page for updates.

Cost: Tickets are $6 online ($7 at the door); ages 3 and younger are free. 

Location: 10819 Carnation-Duvall Rd. N.E., Carnation (Use the west entrance and follow Oxbow’s directions as Google may mislead you.)

Oxbow isn’t just a farm, it’s a sustainable education center that stars in both farm fun and education. Pick up pumpkins, including many lovely varieties for cooking and baking, shop for organic produce, take a hayride, make some pumpkin arts and crafts, try the sling king apple slingshot and more. 

Two Brothers Pumpkins at Game Haven Farm, Carnation

Dates: Opening day will be Saturday, Oct. 5

Cost: Admission to the pumpkin patch is free; pay for your selected pumpkins.

Location: 7110 310th Ave. N.E., Carnation

This no-frills patch offers awesome pumpkins. Pick your own or select from among pre-picked beauties.

Serres Farm, Redmond

Dates: Typically open weekends in October. Check the farm’s Facebook page for updates.

Cost: Admission to the pumpkin patch is free. Pay for pumpkins and activities.

Location: 20306 N.E. 50th St., Redmond

Serres Farm offers a wide range of awesomely named pumpkin varieties: the Warty Goblin, the Knucklehead, the Baby Boo, plus specialty White Ghost pumpkins. Wow!

Grab a wheelbarrow and head out to the field to see which pumpkin calls your name. Activities include a corn maze, mini-train rides and duck races. 

Baxter Barn, Fall City

Dates: Self-guided tours are generally available Tuesday–Saturday, throughout October. Call to make a reservation at 425-765-7883. Check the Facebook page for updates.

Cost: Tours are $8 per person (minimum 3 people) and include visits with the animals — petting the miniature donkeys is a special treat! Tractor rides are extra.

Location: 31929 S.E. 44th St., Fall City

You have to make an appointment to visit Baxter Barn, a local farm focused on sustainable farming practices, but it’s well worth it. Kids will love seeing the horses, mini donkeys, chickens, pheasants and quail. In October, beyond picking pumpkins, you can take a tractor ride, buy certified salmon-safe eggs and take a learning tour of the farm. In October, kids get to take home a free small pumpkin. Call to make an appointment. Note: On-site parking is limited to three cars.

Fall City Farms, Fall City

Dates: Open Friday–Sunday, Oct. 1–31. Check the Facebook page for updates.

Cost: Admission is free. Pumpkins, produce and other fall food for purchase.

Location: 3636 Neal Rd., Fall City

Bring your kids to watch cider being pressed and doughnuts a-sizzling at this perfect pumpkin farm. Meet the cows and donkeys and pick a pumpkin from the patch.

Thomasson Family Farm, Enumclaw

Dates: Open daily, Sept. 28–Oct. 31. Check the Facebook page for updates.

Cost: $14.50 for ages 3 and older on weekdays; $19.50 on weekends. (You’ll pay a few dollars more at the gate. Buy tickets online in advance to save a few bucks.)

Location: 38223 236th Ave. S.E., Enumclaw

A reader favorite in South King County, this working dairy farm offers a 10-acre pumpkin patch and a giant corn maze during pumpkin season. Admission includes tons of attractions including a wagon ride, corn maze, mega slide, farm animals, tractor train rides, feedbox basketball, life-size foosball, chalkboard house and more!
