Filipino Story Time at the Center for Wooden Boats

Join us on Sunday 4/19 at 1pm for our next storytime gathering at @centerforwoodenboats! In celebration of the Filipinos and Washington’s Waterfront exhibit at The Center for Wooden Boats, we will be reading Hand over Hand by @almajfullerton, a story of tradition, persistence, fishing with Lolo (grandpa) and breaking barriers on a banca (boat). We’ll also be crafting little wooden boats to take home! ⛵️

After the story, check out the exhibit developed by @fanhs_national and @maritimewanha, these panels document the Filipino community’s deep connection to Washington’s shores – from immigration and labor to food and maritime traditions.🛶
