April 2026

Our April Power Issue is always one of my favorite moments on the ParentMap calendar. It’s the time of year when we get to meet and celebrate some of the most extraordinary humans right here in our backyard. This year’s lineup of women is remarkable — bold innovators, visionary leaders, groundbreaking creators and community builders who are reshaping our region and our world from every angle. And in a year when athletes from our region are bringing home Olympic gold, it feels especially fitting to celebrate the power, determination and leadership of women across every field. In this special collection of stories, we celebrate their brilliance, grit and the lasting impact they’re making across our entire community.

Also this month, a local mom shares her secret Skagit Valley favorites worth exploring after your annual tulip trek. And for kids who stress about the coming week, we’ve got expert tips to keep the Sunday Scaries away, plus 15 any-weather activities that will get you through April’s spring showers.
