East Lake Sammamish Trail

The recently developed Eastlake Sammamish Trail follows the eastern shore of Lake Sammamish from Redmond to Issaquah. It features newer pavement as wells as conveniently located restrooms and seating. The popular 11-mile trail has six entrance points; our favorite is Sammamish Landing Park, which turns into a buzzing beach destination in the summer months. Ride the wide, quiet stretch of paved trail with pretty lake views, then walk on the dock and have a picnic by the water. More seasoned cyclists can follow the route south towards Issaquah’s Gilman Boulevard or north to Redmond’s Marymoor Park.

Post-cycling pit stop: Explore Lake Sammamish State Park (Discover Pass required to park) and its phenomenal destination playground in Issaquah, followed by a stroll through quaint Gilman Village.

Next pedal: Rainier Trail
