After a year of streaming all of their favorite shows and movies, most kids will want to dress up as their favorite characters for Halloween. While DIY costumes are a great option, it can be hard to find the time to whip up the latest trendy character costume. To help you out, we've scoured the internet to find the trendiest costumes for kids for this Halloween season. Kids will love these cute costumes inspired by “Paw Patrol,” “Shimmer and Shine,” and “Luca,” while older kids and tweens can channel their inner villain with costumes from “Cruella,” “The Descendants,” “Cobra Kai” and more.
1. The Descendants
The descendants of Disney villains may not want to follow in their parents’ footsteps, but they still stand out in a crowd. Kids can choose between good or evil while dressing as characters from “The Descendants.” Target offers a slick-looking Mal costume in sizes 4–12 that includes a jumpsuit, vest and gloves. Pair it with this wig for the ultimate bad-girl look. Target also has costumes of Evie, Audrey and Uma.
She may be the villain everyone loves to hate, but she is stylish! Girls ages 5–10 can channel Cruella with this soft jumpsuit that looks like a dress. It comes with a cape, but you will need to buy the wig to get the iconic black and white hair. Pair this outfit with a walking stick for the perfect Cruella.
3. Paw Patrol
Your young Chase will light up the darkest night in this light-up Paw Patrol costume. The ensemble includes a jumpsuit embellished with metallic and glow-in-the-dark accents, plus a light-up chest emblem. It also comes with a headpiece/mask with ears and a backpack. Party City also has light-up Skye, Rubble and Marshall costumes. They may seem gimmicky but they might keep your kid a little safer on Halloween night.
4. My Hero Academia
This gym suit from UA High School is the perfect outfit for your hero training. No matter what your Quirk is, you’ll be sure to pass the entrance exams, especially if you complete the look with this green wig that looks just like Izuku’s hair.
What kid wouldn’t want to be the Norse God of Mischief? This deluxe Loki costume comes with a padded jumpsuit that includes boot tops, a cape and of course, a headpiece just like his horned helmet. Check Rubie's Costume site for the size chart to ensure a good fit. You will find other “Avengers” costumes there if you want a group or family costume
6. The Karate Kid
For old-school “Karate Kid” movie fans, this costume is just like the karate gi that Daniel wears in the movie. It's available in a variety of sizes and includes the shirt, pants, headband and belt. For the true Daniel look, order the bundle, which includes a wig.
If your kid is more of a cobra, get this karate gi outfit. It comes with a shirt, pants, headband and belt. When people see this uniform, they will steer clear because it means “Show no mercy!”
7. The Mandalorian
Being a bounty hunter is a complicated profession, but true fans of “The Mandalorian“ will love dressing up in this costume. The outfit includes a padded jumpsuit with boot tops, bandolier, cape, belt and mask. Just remember to follow the code! Weapon not included.
Baby Yoda isn’t included but you could opt for a child Grogu costume for a friend or younger sibling.
8. Space Jam
Join the Tune Squad with these “Space Jam“ basketball uniforms. Lola’s uniform comes with a jersey and shorts with attached tail, gloves and a hair accessory that includes bunny ears. This boy’s uniform comes with a jersey, shorts with attached leggings, and arm and wrist bands. Don’t forget the basketball!
9. Shimmer and Shine
Fans of the “Shimmer and Shine” genies will love this colorful costume. This cute set includes a jumpsuit, vest, cuffs and headpiece with a signature pink ponytail. Both genie costumes are available in extra small (for ages 2–4) and small (for ages 4–6), but be sure to check the size chart to get the best fit.
This cute costume will make kids want to live under the sea, herding goatfish. This Luca outfit Includes a jumpsuit, scale gloves, tail and separate mask. Sea monsters can look human when on dry land but Halloween is the perfect time for a sea monster to show its true form. If Lucas’ friend Alberto is your child’s favorite character, there’s a costume for them, too. The masks aren’t attached so that kids can choose whether or not to wear them.
