Puyallup
Puyallup families know and love Pioneer Park. Kids from near and far will love stopping for a romp after experiencing a fun and tasty lunch or treat from across the pond.
British Bites
Find it: 720 E. Main Ave.
The décor and fare of British Bites will delight any Anglophile and all kinds of kids. Try treacle tart (Harry Potter ate that!), a raspberry Vicky or millionaire shortbread from the bakery. For lunch, you can order cottage pie, bangers and mash, or a steak and Guinness pie.
There is a dining room, a cozy nook stocked with British magazines and a small grocery store. The owner says kids love any of the baked goods, and another kid favorite is the shop’s chocolate banana sandwich — sandwich bread slathered with Cadbury chocolate spread and topped with fresh banana.
Pioneer Park
Find it: 324 S. Meridian
Pioneer Park offers a huge play structure, a chess board, restrooms, water fountains and plenty of greenspace. Puyallup’s seasonal farmers market is held here as well, making this an extra-fun stop in summer.
