Paper crafting, jewelry making and dozens of other hands-on art activities await the kids at the annual Kent Kids’ Art Day. Pack lunches or snag snacks at Fast Franks, and enjoy entertaining performances, too. Saturday, March 7, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. $10 per child; adults and ages 2 and younger free. The Olympia Symphony Orchestra raises the bar with its Back to the Future Concert, featuring Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9 and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5. Will it be 5K or 10K? Choose your route to benefit recreation programs for people with special needs in the Foothills Dash. What is a tartan, you ask? Find out and celebrate your Gaelic roots at the 10th annual Scottish Heritage Festival. There’ll be bagpipes, clans, highland dancers, vendors and more.
