Calendar/Event Details

Bears are the teachers at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park this weekend. Zookeepers will set up a demonstration "campground" for bears to tear into. It's a visual lesson in how quickly bears can get into food and rampage through a campsite when campers aren't "bear aware." Visitors will learn best practices for camping in bear country, so summer trips into the Great Northwest Outdoors will be safe for people and bears. Keepers will make special presentations about the wildlife park's brown and black bears, and Northwest Trek visitors will learn what it's like to work closely with some of the most powerful mammals in North America.

Saturday-Sunday 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
