Real Close tours include zoo admission and participants are welcome to explore the zoo on their own at the conclusion of the tour. Explore award-winning Woodland Park Zoo on a 90-minute guided tour. From the zoo’s South Plaza you’ll visit our award-winning African Savanna and Village, get up close and personal with some of the Savanna’s feathered residents, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the heart of the zoo’s operations area, including the greenhouses—home to more than 900 orchids and other New and Old World tropical plants used in a variety of zoo exhibits—and commissary, where all of the food for our more than 1,000 animal residents is stored and prepped. Think your pets at home eat a lot? Wait until you see how much food it takes to keep our gorillas and grizzly bears happy! Then, it's off to visit the newest residents of Woodland Park Zoo, our three Visayan warty pigs. Get an up-close look at this endangered species from a special viewing area. At the conclusion of your tour, you’ll be free to explore the rest of the zoo on your own, or if you cannot stay longer, your guide will escort you back to the South Plaza.
