8th Annual In the Spirit Exhibit at the Washington State History Museum

The IN THE SPIRIT exhibit contains an exciting and diverse selection of contemporary Native American art representing many cultures and including both traditional and innovative works. The exhibit pieces were chosen by a jury of local Native American art experts. The opening night reception on Saturday, June 8th will feature an awards presentation. Organized by the Washington State Historical Society and The Longhouse Education & Cultural Center at the Evergreen State College; funded in part by the Tulalip Tribe Charitable Fund, the Nisqually Tribe Charitable Fund, the Tacoma Arts Commission, and media sponsor KUOW. (On the third Thursday of the month, the museum is free after 2 pm and open until 8 pm.) NOTE: Museum admission is free August 17 in conjunction with the In the Spirit Northwest Native Arts Market and Festival.
