Pacific Science Center presents a fascinating exhibit displaying artifacts from the year 79, when Italy’s Mount Vesuvius erupted and deposited a blanket of ash on the city of Pompeii. This ash blanket both killed all Pompeii’s people and preserved its objects, artworks, money and more. Experience the big quake yourself in an immersive, computer-generated display. Visit website to purchase timed-entry tickets.
Note for parents: included as part of the exhibit are dead bodies encased in ash which some may find disturbing.
