Beloved, Newbery award-winning author Kate DiCamillo (Flora & Ulysses, The Tale of Despereaux, Because of Winn Dixie) continues to tour the country during her two-year term as National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, spreading the joy of reading to children of all ages. Kate will appear at the Bainbridge High School Commons to share how books have impacted her life and encourage communities to read together: “When we read together, we connect. Together, we see the world. Together, we see one another.” The event will be followed by questions from the audience and a book signing.
The National Ambassador program was established in 2008 and is co-sponsored by Every Child a Reader (ECAR), the Children’s Book Council (CBC), and the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress.
