Friends - I see so many of you wondering what you can do, how you can help, what you can offer this movement. I see so many of you realizing your missteps (all of ours, I'm right there with you), and wanting to course correct. Showing up, in droves, to this protest matters. Bringing your children matters. Sharing with our community that we believe that black lives matter is critical. Making a strong showing of that is even more critical to ending racism.
Join us Wednesday afternoon, at City Hall, at the already ongoing protest. Let's show Issaquah that we're here for this, for our black neighbors. On a personal note - so many of my friends here are moms - please, as a mama - come. We can't afford to let our children grow up in a country with so much hate. They are all our children.
*I know so many of you are still concerned about Covid and rightly so. These protests have been well distanced, and there's plenty of space along Sunset to spread out if the crowds get large. Please wear your masks. Bring a sign. Bring water to drink. Bring a snack if you're planning to stay long. Come for 20 minutes, come for a few hours.
