Star Wars™ designer, Colin Cantwell, was the original concept artist and modeler for all things that flew in the first Star Wars™ movie, Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope™. His designs include the X-Wing™, TIE Fighter™, Death Star™, Star Destroyer™, original Millennium Falcon™, Y-Wing™ and others. Developing the process of ‘kitbashing’, Cantwell revolutionized the modeling industry for cinema by tearing apart model kits of cars, boats and planes and re-constructing the pieces into objects.
We are thrilled to present Colin Cantwell and his partner Sierra Dall in conversation at Tacoma Art Museum for the first time – just before the December release of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker™. Are you in need that perfect holiday gift? Cantwell will sign copies of his Star Wars™ spaceship concept art after the presentation.
