Shakespeare in the Park: Twelfth Night by GreenStage

Calendar/Event Details

Pack your snacks, blankets and lawn chairs and head to Wright Park for a free outdoor production of Shakespeare's “Twelfth Night."

Rehearsals start for our annual summer Shakespeare in the Park series this week! In only six short weeks we'll be able to see each other again in person, outside, on the grass, under the sun sharing stories with each other as a community like humans have been doing since the beginning of our species. We can't think of a better way to celebrate the reopening of society.

Each of our plays this season feature characters braving the storm. Some metaphorical like the four lovers in A Midsummer Night’s Dream lost in the woods in a storm of fairy magic. Others literal like Viola in Twelfth Night who lost her twin brother at sea, alone in an unfamiliar city searching for him; or Prospero in The Tempest who creates one to seek revenge on the very people who banished him to a secluded island. But in each play our heroes dig deep, gather their resolve and through love, friendship, camaraderie and forgiveness help each other find their way out of the storm.

About Twelfth Night:

One of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies and our first Backyard Bard play. Twelfth Night features a love quadrangle, some very trying houseguests, romance, mistaken identity and a hilarious comedy of errors. Come join us for one of Shakespeare’s most lyrical plays.
