Kate DiCamillo -- author of elementary-age blockbusters Because of Winn Dixie and The Tale of Despereaux -- is in town in support of her new book, Louise: Adventures of a Chicken. And none of us event-editor types can seem to get her appearance right in the listings. We listed her in the print calendar as appearing at the Central Library yesterday at 4 p.m. (right place, right time, wrong day); another monthly family calendar lists her appearing today at 4 p.m. at University Book Store (right day, right time, wrong place); and today's P-I sez she's at University Book Store today at 7:30 p.m. (wrong place, right day, wrong time).
There has been confusion! I think I probably know why, but never mind.
So hear this: Kate DiCamillo will be at Seattle's Central Library today, Saturday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m.
That is all.
Update and correction: The P-I does list DiCamillo's 4 p.m. appearance on its calendar. Sorry, P-I - I'm still relatively uncaffeinated. However, I could find no mention on University Book Store's online calendar of a 7:30 p.m. appearance at the store itself. Call before you show up.
