Just going about my busy day here, thinking about how tired I am this time of year, what with all the "curriculum nights" and back-to-school busyness, and soccer and cross-country and Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and....and then, I got this email. And it changed my day in a second.

This little guy is Kyle Gehler - 10 years old (just like my son), lives in Port Orchard. His parents would love to have my problems. But instead they have this problem: Their little boy needs a kidney transplant or he may die. And they can't pay for it.

Kyle's doctors at Seattle Children's say he has end-stage renal disease. The Children's Organ Transplant Association is trying to help Kyle get the surgery he needs.

You can read more about Kyle - and donate to help him get that life-saving transplant - here.
