March

  • Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Happy birthday to him! On March 2, celebrate the birthday of uber-popular author with activities at home or your local library, and don’t forget to cook up some green eggs and ham.
  • First viewing at Seattle Japanese Garden. On the first Sunday in March, the elegant Seattle Japanese Garden holds an annual opening, including a Shinto blessing and kid-friendly performances.
  • Holi. Known as the Festival of Color, Holi is joyously celebrated in India on the day after the full moon in March. Look for celebrations at Lake Sammamish State Park and other Eastside locales.
  • Pi Day. The rise of Pi Day has been meteoric, and why not? It’s an opportunity to bake a pie for someone special, look for pie deals and try to explain 3.14.
