One-pan family meals

Sheet pan dinners require one pan, one oven and almost no clean up. By cooking all of your ingredients together on the pan, you get an amazing blend of flavors and textures all in one dish.

Use heavy-gauged half-sheet pans with a rim, to get the crispest, caramelized texture and flavor, and to help stop juices from dripping on to your oven deck. When cooking veggies and meat, start with the denser items and then add the lighter ones partway through cooking.

4. One-pan autumn chicken dinner

Cooking Classsy combines some autumnal favorites (sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts and apples) with chicken and a bit of bacon for a sweet-meets-savory one-pan dish. Instead of buying each herb separately, look for a package of “poultry herbs” often available in the grocery store.

5. Ranch pork chops and potatoes sheet-pan dinner

Ready in 40 minutes, Jo Cooks uses packets of ranch salad dressing mix to season her pork chops and potatoes. Use small baby potatoes or cut larger potatoes into wedges, so they’ll be tender by the time the pork is cooked through.

6. One-pot cashew chicken

Add a little spice to the week with this easy (and delicious!) recipe for cashew chicken from I Heart Eating. With a medley of veggies, this is a good one for sneaking in the healthy stuff, too.
