Town Hall Seattle and The Seattle Youth Commission present The Youth Interactive, a special, free event for young people that focuses on the direct ways they can get involved in civic issues—and how they actually have an advantage in civic engagement. The Seattle Youth Commission is a group of 25 Seattleites aged 13-19 appointed by the mayor and city council to lobby and advocate for reform on issues that pertain to young people, and to connect them to elected officials. Panelists at the May 1 event, part of the Commission's speaker series, include JulieAnne Behar, Voter Education and Outreach Coordinator at Washington’s Office of the Secretary of State, and Andrea Wenet, Executive Director of Ashoka Seattle.
