David Edgar uses the organic shapes, bright focus-group-approved colors and label graphics of detergent bottles to make fantasy tropical fish, masks, birds, serpents, crabs, and abstract sculptural works. He co-authored Fantastic Recycled Plastic with his wife, Robin Edgar, to demonstrate how anyone can use detergent bottles, yogurt containers, and other plastic packaging to discover their creative potential. The book offers 30 projects to inspire creativity, a history of plastics, facts on plastic recycling, and a gallery of 50 international artists working with recycled plastic.
