All concerts take place on the zoo's North Meadow. Randy Newman has long been one of the most musically and lyrically ambitious singer-songwriters ever to be at play in the fields of popular music. Critics laude the musical depth, edge and literary quality of his lyrics, especially in his noted foray into film composing. He has been been nominated for nineteen Oscars, including his first Oscar win for Best Original Song for Monsters Inc., earned an Emmy and several Grammys. In 2010, Newman received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
