For today's race car workshop, Barnes & Noble teams up with Thames & Kosmos, an an award-winning science and education publisher of high-quality science and technology-related educational products for children. Thames & Kosmos places an emphasis on teaching concepts and skills through hands-on modeling of real-world devices and processes, and by offering comprehensive, meaningful reading materials for a rich learning experience. During this event, children will make and experiment with a wind-up toy car using a rubber band, gears, wheels and a simple frame. A race with a prize for the winner and runner up will follow. Children are permitted to take their cars home after the event.
