The Kent Lions and Foundation help ring in the holidays at Kent Winterfest, a Christmas event for the entire community. The event is free to attend and incorporates holiday traditions and activities for the whole family. Featured events include:

Santa’s Children’s Workshop
1:00 to 2:30 Down Home Catering
Children will find their true talent creating Christmas ornaments and cards and decorating Christmas cookies. Wonderous forms of youthful holiday art will be discovered. Children will be escorted to the Kent Library in time for the Holiday Reading.

Holiday Reading
3:30pm at the Kent Library
Kids who attend this reading and craft making event will also receive VIP seating and treats at the Tree Lighting.

Holiday Parade
4:30 through Kent Historic District
Parade will start at the parking lot at E Titus treet and First Avenue S. proceed north on First, to Gowe Street, turn west on Gowe and proceed to Second Avenue, turn north on Second Avenue, arriving at Town Square Plaza at 5:00pm.

Tree Lighting
5:30pm at the Town Square Plaza
Local choirs and bands will sing and play Christmas songs leading up to the lighting. Santa will arrive and a light show synchronized to music will begin, during which the lighting of the real 35 foot Christmas tree will take place. Free hot apple cider, hot chocolate, popcorn and other goodies will be provided.
