January is the perfect time to prepare for **starting your own hives** in the spring of 2015. This lecture-style introductory course will cover the fundamentals of beekeeping, including equipment, parts of the hive, bee hive location, Pierce County/City of Tacoma codes, feeding and treating the docile insects, identification of bee species, hornets, and wasps and seasonal management with an emphasis toward natural beekeeping.
