The transition to Middle School is exciting and at times, challenging.
Join us for this online seminar which will equip students with skills to be successful in Middle School and encourage parents to be active partners in this journey. Amy Fowler and Grace Carruth, two Bear Creek teachers, will touch on topics such as problem solving, self-advocacy, time management, and organization.
Intended audience: families with children in grades 5 through 8.
Amy Fowler started teaching at The Bear Creek School in 1999. Amy loves teaching because she can impact students and see them grow academically, socially, and spiritually throughout their sixth-grade year, as they strive toward goals they have set. She holds a B.A. Elementary Education from Western Washington University and an M.S. Brain Research from Nova Southeastern University.
Grace Carruth '15 joined the Bear Creek faculty in 2019 and teaches Middle School drama. She is passionate about cultivating an appreciation for the gift of creativity and of theater, and as a Bear Creek graduate, Grace brings a unique understanding of the school's mission. While a student at Bear Creek, Grace won an individual State Championship in Original Oratory and now coaches the Middle School forensics club. She holds a B.A. Theater from Whitworth University.
Tools for Success is a seminar series at which Bear Creek faculty will speak on a variety of parenting and academic topics. These sessions focus on subjects ranging from preschool to college planning. You are invited to attend any or all events, and we encourage you to invite a friend from outside the Bear Creek community.
