Celebrate the opening of Designing Motherhood: Things that Make and Break Our Births – a special exhibition that explores the arc of human reproduction through the lens of art and design. Featuring over 200 objects, this exhibition brings together contemporary artists and designers to examine the evolution of rights and societal norms connected to contraception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences over the last 150 years, highlighting that birth—and the culture that surrounds it—impacts every living person.
Drop by for the Feb. 15 opening celebration and check out the exhibition, join a tour, participate in take-action activities led by local organizations like Days for Girls, PEPS, Perinatal Support Washington, Seattle Design Nerds, and Westside Baby and enjoy refreshments.
You'll also hear live music by Jeannie Rak, a Thailand-born, Seattle-based singer-songwriter who performed as a busker at Pike Place Market.
