A school where the teachers are three hundred years old, a lake at summer camp infested with Nixies — does your creative mind see magic everywhere? In this workshop we will write very short pieces (flash fiction) in which the realistic, mundane world becomes inexplicably infused with the exquisite or sinister supernatural. Lighting our mysterious path will be writers like Kelly Link, Kathleen Alcalá, and Italo Calvino. Expect writing exercises and an opportunity to share your work (no critique).
