Goldendale Observatory Program - Do Not Update

Calendar/Event Details

Solar Program: In the afternoon (2–4 p.m., Fridays–Sundays through March), visitors are treated to an insightful discussion on the surface features and inner workings of our local star, the Sun. This one to two hour long show includes some of the highest resolution and contrast live views of the Sun you will see at any public observatory or science center. By the end, you will understand the stars!

Evening Program: In the evening (7–10 p.m., Fridays–Sundays through March), the "main event" that put Goldendale Observatory on the map:  For one to three hours, visitors have their astronomy questions answered by expert staff while touring the stars outdoors and viewing space objects through the eyepiece of one of the world's largest public telescopes. Bring some curiosity... and a jacket!

Please keep in mind, while kids have lots of fun at Goldendale Observatory, guardians should keep a watchful eye on young hands as there are antiques and sensitive instruments in the facility.  Additionally, young children may have trouble staying awake for the entirety of evening shows.
