Grades 6-12.
Presented byMarcella Haddad.
In this writing workshop, learn how to craft compelling horror stories by exploring our original experiences and subverting tropes. How do we terrify a reader of horror fiction differently than a horror film audience? What do horror and comedy have in common? What's the difference between a plot twist and a plot hole? Go over some story structures and tips for designing stories that are truly terrifying. By the end of this workshop, you will have an outline of a new horror story, some reading recommendations, and strategies to keep your readers on the page and scared out of their minds!
