Join the Stroum Jewish Community Center for a Purim-themed scavenger hunt around Mercer Island! Load up the family car and explore Mercer Island’s amazing parks and public spaces while learning the story of Purim.
We’ll release the first clue on our Facebook page (make sure to “like” us so you don’t miss the clue!) at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, which will lead you on an adventure! Each of the eight clues will include the next portion of Queen Esther’s heroic act that saved the Jews from the evil Haman. The hunt ends with hamantashen and prizes for the whole family!
Food drive:
In honor of the 4th Mitzvot of Purim (read more about this with PJ Library by clicking here), we encourage everyone to donate non-perishable food items to our Mitzvah Corp donation bin. All donations will be given to the Food Pantry with Jewish Family Services in Seattle. When you head out on your scavenger hunt, bring along a bag to donate and at the end you can swing by the SJCC (spoiler alert, you might be heading here any way) and drop it off in our donation bin at the top of the entry ramp. Thank you!
