The City of Seattle, ARTS & Culture, with the West Seattle Junction Merchants Association, awarded URGENT AFRICA a festival, produced by Janean Wjvold, VP Business Development for the Neighborhood Recovery Program. World Music performances will affirm students and families from various regions of Africa and Latin America of their own cultural traditions and help them feel more valued as members of our community. For other families, the exposure to music from other parts of the world will broaden their artistic horizon and develop greater appreciation for World heritage and create a Community-Building, FREE event for many families in West Seattle.
