Hear those who sing for the seas. Islanders who share an ancient seafaring ancestry and language journey together for this multimedia concert performance that features eight musicians and vocalists from the nations of New Zealand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, Madagascar, Easter Island, Solomon Islands, and Papua New Guinea.
This program has evolved from visits to 16 Island Nations, and work with over 100 artists, solo artists, elders, community groups and grassroots musicians, all recorded in their homelands in nature using traditional instruments and languages, with each contributing to the other’s songs. The result is a stunning musical collaboration that reunites the distant yet interconnected musical traditions of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
