The Tempest | February 28 – March 1, 2020
Written by William Shakespeare | Directed by Simon Pringle | Presented by the Knutzen Family
Prospero, the Duke of Milan, usurped of his position and power by his brother, is banished along with his young daughter Miranda, to a magical island full of mysterious creatures. For twelve years, Prospero waits and hones his magical skills, until a sail appears on the horizon, with a ship carrying his past enemies. Creating a magical storm, he wrecks the vessel and washes those that have wronged him – and some who have saved him – upon the shore. When they wake, they find themselves lost on a fantastical island where nothing is as it seems. In this production of The Tempest the worlds of Shakespeare’s play and fantasy roleplaying collide, with Prospero at the center as our Game Master. Does absolute power rest in his hands, or is fate determined by the roll of the dice?
